Yesterday, we went to REI to shop for shoes and such. We took the highway/freeway/interstate/thruway (whatever your preference is) and I was not disappointed in Portlanders. It amazes me that when two lanes merge, people here understand the concept that it every other car should let someone into their lane. From my brief experience here this occurs 90-95% of the time. This is quite impressive.
I’m not sure if the rest of the country just did not get the memo or if they are just that stubborn. I have lived in several states and have driven through a few more and this is a practice that is not respected in any of them, even remotely. All that to say, its the little things in life that make is so much better! So thank you Portlanders, for knowing how to let lanes merge together and actually putting that into practice!
